Start Your Personal OS on Paper

A Personal OS is your evolving way to apply the framework. You can begin on paper without an account or an app.

Suggested time: 20–40 minutes, then a two-week check-in. · Print or notebook. No software required. Nothing you write here is saved on this site.

What you need

A printed page or notebook. Optional: a two-week calendar reminder you already use.

Steps

  1. This short website exercise helps you begin. The book’s workbook takes you through each pillar in more detail.
  2. Use the four pillars as the main sections: #EgoLow, #PressYourPurpose, #CellFish, and #Prep4Purpose.
  3. For one pillar, notice a current tactic’s status: serves me, inconsistent, outgrown, or rarely done. Then decide whether to keep, adjust, pause, or replace it.
  4. Choose one tactic to try for the next two weeks. Note what it supports, what it asks of your time and energy, and how you will know whether it fits. A tactic can be worth keeping because it serves one important purpose. A strong magnifier supports several pillars with a workable demand on your time and energy.
  5. Choose a time to review how the tactic fits. The book also offers a fuller workbook you can return to as your life changes.

An example

A person who already walks after lunch might name that walk as a #CellFish and #EgoLow tactic, note that it costs 20 minutes, and commit to keeping it for two weeks while noticing whether it also helps #PressYourPurpose by creating a cleaner return to work.

Optional deeper analysis

These fields match the Personal OS teaching map. Use them when you want more detail. On a phone, each field stacks so it stays readable.

The specific aim under that pillar.

The kind of practice this is, such as movement, attention, food, clothing, tools, or environment.

What else this may support, if anything.

Time, energy, and attention it asks of you.

Whether it is easy to repeat, and whether it supports more than one purpose.
