Teaching map of the Driver, Windshield, and Car: consciousness, perception, and the body with its patterns and environment.
The driver chooses the destination. The windshield shapes what the driver sees. The car supplies capacity, learned patterns, and skills.

The idea

R2L uses a navigation analogy. The driver is consciousness: observer, choice, values, purpose, and stewardship. The windshield is the mind: perception, attention, interpretation, and stored impressions. The car is the brain and body, biology, habits and reactions, skills, survival programming, inputs, and environment.

A clear windshield helps the driver see what is real. Noise and old residue distort the view and waste the car's energy. The analogy is a teaching device, not a physiological proof.

In everyday life

When a familiar reaction appears, you can notice the interpretation, the body or environmental conditions, and the direction you want to choose. You do not have to reduce your identity to that reaction.

In this analogy, autopilot describes familiar patterns taking over when you are not consciously choosing a direction. Seeing that pattern is already a different posture than being fully inside it.

Three parts of one system

The driver. The conscious person who can observe, choose, and take responsibility for direction.

The windshield. How attention and interpretation shape what seems possible before a choice is made.

The car. The body, habits, skills, and surroundings that carry the choice into the day.

Reflect

What are you seeing, and what might be shaping how you see it?

Try

Describe one situation in three short notes: what I notice, what may influence my view, and what I choose next. Observe without grading yourself.
