Teaching map of the five levels of being healthy: Not Sick, Happiness, Proving Purpose, Validating Purpose, and Expansion.
These five levels are a location-and-horizon map. They are not the five qualities in the health definition.

The idea

The five levels of being healthy are Not Sick, Happiness, Proving Purpose, Validating Purpose, and Expansion. This model is separate from the five qualities of being in the health definition. The five levels help you consider your current experience and a next direction.

Not Sick is a clinical baseline: nothing is visibly broken. Happiness is when enjoyment, satisfaction, and purpose show up most days. Proving Purpose is energy moving toward purpose every day. Validating Purpose is when the ecosystem confirms that the contribution is needed and valued. Expansion means building in a way that grows your capacity over time, or passing what you have learned to others.

How to use it

Use the levels to explore the framework's discussion of health and purpose. A gap between where you are and where you want to go is direction, not failure.

The teaching also notes frequency: rarely, some days, most days. That language is for honest self-observation, not comparison.

Reflect

What question about health does this model invite you to examine?

Try

For your own reflection, consider each level. Does it describe your experience rarely, some days or most days? Notice what is already present and one area you want to support next.
