The idea
In Chapter 3, Jimmy acknowledges Arthur C. Brooks and Build the Life You Want, written with Oprah Winfrey. Relearn2Live brings these ideas into its daily framework. As Jimmy writes, he did not discover these three ingredients.
The R2L happiness model treats enjoyment, satisfaction, and purpose as life macronutrients. They are not interchangeable promises of feeling good.
Enjoyment is the quality of lived moments: presence, pleasure, connection, and experience. Alone, it can become a loop of seeking the next hit of stimulation. Satisfaction is earned meaning that follows difficult, worthwhile effort. It cannot be downloaded or bought. Alone, achievement can still feel empty. Purpose is the sense that action reflects real values and improves the world in some way. When it is missing, hardship loses its meaning.
In everyday life
A pleasant break, finishing something worthwhile, and contributing to someone else can each matter. Ask what role each plays in your actual day rather than making one carry everything.
The useful move is simple: name the ingredient that is underfed, then choose a small adjustment from that location.
Reflect
Which ingredient have you given the least attention recently?
Try
Choose an ordinary activity and notice which ingredient it offers. If one is thin, add a modest counterpart rather than replacing the whole day.
